TYPES AND USES OF DOZERS

17.jpg

Dozers are heavy duty equipment commonly known as bulldozers. They come with a heavy, wide blade that is mounted at the front of the tractor. This blade is used to push the densely compacted material. Not all, but many bulldozers are equipped with a claw-like tool that is mounted on the rear. Earlier bulldozers were only used by the farmers for landscaping and plowing but with the new modifications they can use in many different fields of work. Today, bulldozers can be seen on engineering and mining sites.

There are different types of dozers that vary based on their use. Some bulldozers are modified by replacing the blade with large hydraulic arms and metal buckets. These modifications help in increasing the utilities of dozers. Here are some of the different types of dozers:

Crawler Bulldozer:

This is a type of bulldozer which looks like a tractor. It is used to push sand and other heavy materials from one place to the other. The crawler bulldozer is a tracked vehicle and does not come with any tires. They come in various sizes. The large crawlers have a ripper installed at the machine’s rear end and are capable of crushing any hard surface. This is a type of dozer which is mostly suitable in irregular fields because of the abrasive plate. The plate in front of the tractor is used to move the sand and other heavy material.

Wheeled Bulldozer:

Wheeled dozers are larger than the crawler ones. These are the types of dozers that are used in most of the construction plans like water parks and stadiums. Their high efficiency and performance make them suitable for this type of work. The wheeled dozers come with large and heavy tires that enable them to function well. This one has a fully articulated hydraulic steering that is very easy and flexible to operate.

Mini Dozers:

The small dozers are designed in a way to optimize speed, maneuverability, transportability, and versatility. These types of dozers are best for residential construction. They are useful for tasks such as grading and clearing lots. They also prove beneficial in sloping the sides of roads, driveways, and for construction and backfilling purposes too.

Apart from the ones mentioned above, there are other types of dozers that are available but they are not so commonly used today. The ones that have the maximum uses are seen on a daily basis across roads and other construction sites.
